4 Discipleship Activities To Help You Grow Your Students

Our annual discipleship strategy is based on four spiritual habits: Spending Time with God, Spending Time with Others, Using Your Gifts, and Sharing Your Story. This strategy influences our curriculum and teaching strategy, but it’s much bigger than just sermons because, as you’ve probably realized, even the best sermons in the world aren’t quite enough to ensure that teenagers are being discipled.

FAMILY EASTER DEVOTIONAL

THIS QUARTER’S SPIRITUAL HABIT: SPENDING TIME WITH GOD
(Recommended For The Spring)

In the spring, we’ll give families an opportunity to grow in their faith together with a six week family devotional that combines simple activities, Scripture and discussion starters based on Holy Week and the Resurrection of Jesus.

CONVERSATION CARDS

THIS QUARTER’S SPIRITUAL HABIT: SHARING YOUR STORY
(Recommended For The Summer)

In the summer, we’ll focus on the spiritual habit of sharing your story while kids are spending time with their friends, neighbors and family members. They will get conversation cards to take home that will give them simple prompts with things they can use to talk to others about God and their story with Him.

SMALL GROUP FUN KITS

THIS QUARTER’S SPIRITUAL HABIT: SPENDING TIME WITH OTHERS
(Recommended For The Fall)

In the fall, we’ll focus on the spiritual habit of community when kids are back in school and building friendships with their peers. We’ll give you small group fun kits that will give you the top 15 easy and fun games your kids can play together in their small groups to help them grow in their relationships with each other.

GIVING WARS

THIS QUARTER’S SPIRITUAL HABIT: USING YOUR GIFTS
(Recommended For The Winter)

In the winter, we’ll focus on the spiritual habit of knowing and using your gifts to serve God and others, when there are lots of service opportunities available. We’ll let you choose a local charity and give you instructions to host a war with your kids to see which group of kids can collect the most money or donations for the charity.
