FOLLOW THE STAR: A 4-WEEK SERIES ON CHRISTMAS
WEEK 2 BIG IDEA: God gives people to guide us.

SERIES OVERVIEW:

It’s the time of year when Christmas decorations begin to fill our homes. From the twinkling lights, to the sparkling stars, to the glittering snow, there is light all around us! The very first Christmas didn’t have Christmas trees or ornaments, but it did have something special: light! Just like a star in the sky led the wise men to Jesus on the very first Christmas, today our Christmas lights remind us to continue looking toward Jesus, the One we celebrate each Christmas. In this 4-week Christmas series, kids will discover the many ways God gets our attention and guides us toward Him: through His direction, through other people, through our Savior, and through the hope Jesus has given us.

What happens when you ask a bunch of kids to tell you the story of Christmas? This hilarious video illustrates a group of kids narrating their version of the Christmas story. Remember, even if kids don’t get every detail exactly right, focus the core of the Christmas story: it’s all about the Savior coming to Earth, born in a manger, to save us from our sins.

At least once this month, choose a volunteer to celebrate. Add their picture and a few sentences about what makes them awesome!
