Modern Families Volunteer Email Week 3 | Grow Youth & Kids Ministry Curriculum
Hey did you know it’s National Volunteer Month? What a great month! We will be giving away free hugs at church this week. Available while supplies last.
Here’s a few things coming up in our ministry . . .

ADD THE DATES: Parent Events
This month, we’re hosting two events for teenagers and the parents (or parent figures) who love them. If you’re not already attending the event with your kid, we’d love your  help. Let us know if you can serve!

ADD THE DATE: Volunteer Meeting
Thank you all for coming to last month’s volunteer meeting! We have our final meeting of the year coming up this month, so make sure it’s on your calendar! We hope to see you there as we learn about ADD THE TOPIC together.

ADD THE DATES: Summer Event
This month, we’re kicking off the summer with a ton of summery fun at our Pineapple Mayhem event! Get the details on our website!

MODERN FAMILIES: A 4-WEEK SERIES ON FAMILY
WEEK 3 BIG IDEA: When your family changes, God remains your center.

SERIES OVERVIEW:
It should only take a quick look around to realize there are no perfect families (not even in the Bible), but that doesn’t stop us from comparing our families’ quirks, flaws, and shortcomings to the seemingly perfect lives of other families. In this 4-week series, you’ll challenge students to give their families grace, seek resolution to their conflicts, trust God through difficult transitions, and treat more friends like family.

DOWNLOAD THIS WEEK’S CONVERSATION GUIDE

Think you’re a good listener? Maybe . . . but maybe not. During most conversations, we’re actually more focused on what we’re going to say next than on what the person in front of us is actually saying. To become a better listener, try this during your next conversation with a teenager: maintain eye contact, don’t interrupt, summarize what they’ve said, and ask follow-up questions.
Choose a volunteer to celebrate this week. Add their picture and a few sentences about what makes them awesome!
We’d love your opinion. How well do you think our ministry serves parents of teenagers? Hit Reply on this email and let us know. We’d love to get better!
