THE GREAT ESCAPE: A 4-WEEK SERIES ON MOSES AND THE EXODUS
WEEK 1 BIG IDEA: God can send people to help you.

SERIES OVERVIEW:

If you’ve ever heard of an escape room, you know the goal is pretty clear: to escape! In the book of Exodus, God’s people had the same goal when they became enslaved by the nation of Egypt. In an escape room, a group of friends must work together to follow instructions, solve puzzles, and discover clues that will help them find freedom. In the story of the Exodus, God’s people find freedom by witnessing God’s miracles and following God’s leadership through Moses. You may never be trapped in a room or taken captive by an enemy country, but there might be a time when you need some help from God. So in this 4-week series, kids will see that when they’re in trouble, God can send people to help them, God can help them do great things, God can do anything, and God is with them.

Make it a goal this week to laugh with at least one kid during the service. Church should be a happy and exciting place for kids. You can tell jokes, tell funny stories, play funny games, use silly voices, call something by the wrong name, make silly faces, or ask the kids to tell you a joke or a funny story. Make the environment one with joy and gladness.

If you’re subscribed to Grow Your Ministry, now would be a good time to attach Volunteer Tip Video #9 from your Volunteer section.

At least once this month, choose a volunteer to celebrate. Add their picture and a few sentences about what makes them awesome!

If you’re a small group leader, you’re the best link we have between our church and your family. So here’s a question: How many parents have you connected with so far this year?
